Page one is all backstory...! The reason for that being that that is the part I had planned, the rest is still kinda up in the air as I just didn't have enough time yet. And to be painfully honest, I'm not sure if it will happen at all.
Life is kinda taking up too much time for BFOI to have enough for itself... But, we'll see!I LOVE drawing Hugo, omg. You might have noticed I pay a lot of attention to anatomy, so drawing a squishy gummy caterpillar without a bone in its body feels so novel and fun. And his face reminds me of a Moomin. Usually, Wurmples and Caterpies are interpreted as having small beady eyes in the middle of the big lighter spot, a fake cornea. I decided to instead give them big fish eyes. Fish eyes are very expressive once you get used to reading them- I hope I managed to do that some justice.
Done in dip pen. While drawing, I noticed my ink bottle says 'shellac'. This means this page was drawn with actual baby bugs. orz How depressing.
